Kingdom Death White Lion Armour WIP

Here's a player character that's in progress.  This game was pretty expensive, so my friends I'm playing it with pitched in a bit of money to help out.  As part of that I told them all they'd each get a model for each armour type to assemble and paint themselves.  Anyway, despite them all having painted their own 40k armies and such, none of them have jumped to paint a dude yet.  Since I want the game to look nice while we play, I'm going to do the tour of models to start.  Just 1 of each type for now.  Later probably a few more with different weapon options.  The joints are so small (not heroic proportions) so I'm not going to try to magnetize them.

Lord Kraxen the Blood Reaver

Here's my finished Chaos Lord for my Khorne Daemonkin army.  I tried to capture the 'essence' of him being slowly possessed in his worship; hence the wings and the bloodletter arm.  I'm sure it's a painfully murderous process!

Khorne Lord Painting in Progress

This guy is making progress. I still have to paint stirrups, skulls, darken the wings and paint the bone, blood, and tarnished brass.  So quite a bit haha but at least now you can see the character developing.  Hope to finish this weekend since I still have to paint up the mount which isn't started.  I'd done a test paint on it with full brass but it looked too bling so instead I'm going to mirror the blood crusher mounts I painted.  On a side note, the bloodletter arm doesn't look too out of place on him from different angles because the legs I used are also larger.  The wings put the whole thing into better perspective too since without them, his torso was definitely too small and out of scale.  I mean you can still see that, but it's less noticeable now.

Kingdom Death - Candy and Cola Painted

We've been playing Kingdom Death a LOT lately.  With a table I can leave games set up permanent between sessions on, it's even easier!  Here's Candy, I painted the cloth to match the rest of the survivors and like the soda pop miniature she was inspired by, I went with purple/pink hair.  It sets her out quite a bit on the table :)

Gaming Table Build - Complete! 500 posts!

I think this is a really great 500th post for my blog.  I've finished my gaming table which is stained and folded up. It fits 6 folding chairs hidden inside.  It's fairly sturdy and REALLY heavy.  I needed help to get it into the basement.  When it's all folded up you can barely see the pine underneath so I'm happy about that.  My renovated nerd room is now complete!

Gaming Table Build - Part 2

Since it is just ugly pine and MDF, I painted it brown.  I'm not missing out on any wood grain.  The table top however, I picked up some oak veneered plywood and I'm working on attaching a veneer strip around the outside cuts.  It's about 50 feet of veneering I have to do with a 6" iron so it's time consuming.
