Emerald Fists Wave 7

The last batch of marines was rather small, being just scouts, centurions and a techmarine.  For my next batch I'm going with a storm eagle, 10 assault marines with flamers and some sternguard.  I've already started washing the storm eagle.  You can see how thick I apply my initial washes in this image.

Action Shot - Convoy

The Fists spearhead toward the Emperor's Children is halted by an Obliterator Cult
Here's a photo during the game I played last night.  It did not go well for the Emerald Fist/Raven Guard duo.  That Belakor fellow is a monster.  First time playing on a buddy's table and these urban mats look awesome.  The forested on doesn't do it for me (I prefer the GW one) but for urban/roadway stuff this one is pretty slick.

Storm Eagle Assembly

After a lot of boiling water to get everything perfectly flush, I started putting the fuselage together for the storm eagle.  When my elastic broke I had to improvise.  Behold my newest vise, the dust mask.

Painting to commence soon enough!  After much much pinning.

[Emerald Fists] Converted Centurions Complete

My minor centurion converion is done.  I think they look way more like dreadnoughts this way and that was my intent.  The arms are on magnets so they can be swapped easily.  These models really grew on me.  I left the groin guard off so that they'd appear to have a little bit more mobility.

[Emerald Fists] Techmarine - Complete

After making my libarian I had a spare model left from the legion praetor set and figured he had enough artifice to warrant making him a techmarine.  Currently I think he'll be my master of the forge but that might change if I get more tech marines.  I'm going to use him to man a thunderfire cannon.  I think I'll use one of these as a thunderfire cannon.

Emerald Fist Centurions - WIP

Half a year ago I built these and now they're painted.  Here's the modelling post.  These are painting up about as quickly as 3 normal marines.  They're larger but I find a green shoulder is a green shoulder regardless of size.  I have to paint the weapons and a bit more detail and these will be ready to crush my enemies.

Mark IV Scouts (Forge World Recon Marines)

Happy New Year!  I finished my scouts and here they are presented all sneaky like.  Since my terrain is all painted in this dark brown I used the same colours on their cloaks.  The cloaks were a small touch and they're very subtle but made painting these actually seem different than the normal marines.  I magnetized one of them and game him a heavy weapon.  This isn't a normal inclusion in the kit but the shoulder mounted heavy weapon was a good fit.  Now I can swap between missile and heavy bolter.  Someday I'll write some official fluff for these guys too!  But for now, it's just pictures.
