I played a 1750 game recently and wanted to share. I used guard with nurgle allies against a pure CSM list with lots of khorne and tzeenchian sorcery. This isn't a step by step but highlights some of the cooler happenings. I'll share my end game thoughts at the bottom.

I sat down last night and put the finishing touches on my Manticore. I had two of the official GW models but they lacked the ability to be modular. This one just uses the bog standard whirlwind turret with four missiles. I added some sprue to the bottom of the turret so that it can lock into the chimera. I really wanted something that could swap back and forth between a hydra, manticore or chimera depending on my needs for the game.

Next up I have the ork submission. My buddy (who wanted allies but also wanted more orks) went with the allied IA8 ork list and built some cybork troops. There are lots of nifty unique orks here out of his bits box. My favourite (and I think his) is the cybork dog on the far left. I spoke to him about these models and the enjoyment he had making them really came across in his speach. I think we may sometimes forget this is a hobby and enjoying it is paramount.

Continuing his entry into the Tau universe my buddy finished some Firewarriors. I'm sure he'll be using them and his painted commander next game since they're a legal ally now (1 troop and 1 HQ). I've never been able to pull off line highlighting well nor really had the patience but I like the effect it has here. The 'Tau Sept Ochre' colour is also a really nice change in the drab of the 41st millennium without being 'in your face' bright. Over the next couple days I'll post the rest of the entries.

Captain Marcus Galba of the 3rd Company holds the honoured rank of Master of the Siege within the Emerald Fists. This position is akin to the Master of the Arsenal common to codex chapters and holds much prestige as would any such position among a successor of the Imperial Fists. The strong tradition of siege warfare among the Fists led to the 3rd company being among the first in the chapter to reach full strength after the Schism, second only to the 1st company. Although the Fists do not bear the standard Codex Astartes colours on their armour, Galba wears it proudly here on the inside of his cloak, a mark of his station. The 3rd company has been instrumental in hunting the tainted and assailing their fortified positions in no small part to Galba's command. Calm and collected, Galba exemplifies this hallmark trait of the Emerald Fists. Shown here, triumphant after laying siege to Bronux Prime, Captain Galba carries many relics of the chapter including an Emerald Fist and advanced signum unit from before the days of the Horus Heresy, handed down as heirlooms from their parent chapter.
