Imperial Guard Sentinel (AT-ST Inspired)

Not much to say aside from I couldn't help but finish painting this after it was put together.  Definately inspired by Starwars though.  I reversed the legs, trimmed the exhaust, underslung the weapons (magenets) and cleaned up all of the protruding bits to make it more streamlined.  This was my first attempt (2011) at doing sponge battle damage.  Such an easy thing to do!

Dark Heresy - Shades on Twilight (Excerpt)

Here's a little recap of an event from our last role play session that I wanted to share.  With a little bit of determination and hate for an NPC you can accomplish anything :)

Blood Angels Assault Marines

These guys have been sitting on my painting desk for I think 13 months.  The motivation to finish a squad that will never get out of its transport was very minimal.  Having 10 or maybe even 15 other guys like this painted meant certain casualties got to 'rejoin' the battlefield twice meaning these dudes never needed to see play.  Regardless though I finally pushed through them.

Leaked 6th Edition 500 point Battle Report

I know it is nothing new for the discussion of this potentially leaked ruleset (herein refered to as the leaked rules) but I wanted to share my experience with a playtest of it.

A friend and I really wanted to try it out so we read through the rules quickly enough to start playing and decided on two 500 point army lists that would provide a diversity of unit types to help get a feel for the new rules.  I believe we had 505 points each but weren't being too limitting on this...

Painted Tau Warfish

Some more older shots of mine, here's a devilfish I put together.  I really like the jaws on fighter planes and though it would fit on a devilfish well.  If I were to redo a Tau army now, I'd have a better paint job on the vehicle itself (especially with my new airbrush) but the jaws are neat.  I had to shave off the side targetting array from the hull sponson so that I could paint the mouth smoothly.

I also shortened the nose mounted burst cannon substantially which gives it a much more compact look.

Counts-as Kommandos

So here are some Kommandos I've made from AoBR boyz and a nob as snikrot. The shot doesn't capture it, but the nob has had his clothing shaved off to give him the unshirted look. All of the other random orks have bits like camo cloaks and stikk bombs affixed to set them apart from the norm. Keeping tradition, I've made some hats to help them blend in with their surroundings (which apparently doesn't work on desert rock!

Scratch Built Thunderbolt Fighter

Here's something I put together a few years back.  I had been getting shot up by a pesky ork fighta bomba in apocalypse games so I bolstered my forces with a thunderbolt.  It's not my best paint job but back then I was pretty happy with it.  The canopy is what really ruins it.  It was basically just an attempt to practice my plasticard before doing the thunderhawk.
