Kingdom Death Messenger of Courage Painted

Finished up my Messenger of Courage from Kingdom Death.  It's hard to tell because of lighting/subtle wash, but in keeping with the Zelda theme I tried to make the Twilight Sword blue as well as the colouring of the shield is all done with washes (blue/green/red).  This model is pretty cool so I'll probably sub her in as a twilight sword survivor when the opportunity arises.  There are a few male models from the promo set that will work as well when the survivor is a dude.  In hindsight, the white leggings/collar might be a bit too bright and draw the eye where it shouldn't, but when I look from 24" it isn't as bad.

Kingdom Death Messenger of Courage WIP

Here's my WIP Messenger of Courage from Kingdom Death.  I'm embracing the Zelda theme obviously :)  I think I'll use her as a figure when people earn a twilight sword (aside from her mini scenario).

Kingdom Death - Lonely Tree WIP 3

Here's more work on the tree.  I'd gone back to touch up some of the bark and paint the leaves on the trunk and noticed they were attached to larger vines so I coloured those in to make them pop.  You can see I'm slowly wearing away the primer on the base as I manhandle the tree.

Kingdom Death - The Watcher - Painted

Here's the last baddy from the core game of Kingdom Death - The Watcher.  My colour choices came from the concept art on the kickstarter page.  The blue is done with GW nihilak oxide and white drybrushing.  I'm assuming their energy whisps but am not positive.  I painted the cloak with catachan green, rotting flesh and devlan mud.  Now to move on to the expansions (which I may have overindulged in and bought all of them......) with some more survivors sprinkled liberally around.

Kingdom Death - Lonely Tree WIP2

More work on the tree, the tree itself.  This model was a bit involved to assembled, took me 3 evenings.  I'd highly suggest using Vibrant Lantern as a guide on assembly.  Though I believe he forgot one of the root pieces until later, so skim the whole guide, and figure out which piece I'm talking about haha.  Anyway, doing the wood first, then the metallic and the leather belts.  This model is huge so I have to be smart when painting it so I have hand holds and don't rub all of the paint job off.

Kingdom Death - Screaming Armour Painted

This is probably my current (it changes so much!) favourite survivor mini for Kingdom Death.  He just looks so bad ass compared to the rest of them which look 'scared'.  This guy is ready to take on the unknown.  Minor detail, but I did have to paint on his nipple, he looked a bit strange without on haha.

Kingdom Death - Lonely Tree - Nightmare Fruit

I picked up the lonely tree and thought I'd start with the nightmare fruit.  These things hang from the tree and can be removed as they're interacted with on the game board.  They're actually huge, the size of a survivor.  And I think they have teeth...

Kingdom Death - Screaming Antelope Armour WIP

I saw this pose online and had to steal it.  I can't remember who painted it sadly or I'd give them credit (I think it was on coolmini).  Anyway, consider this a tribute :)

We use Zanbatos a lot and this guy I'm sure will see a lot of play.  I really like the look of this guy.  Reminds me of Conan.

Forgeworld Herald of Khorne - Painted

Finished painting up the herald.  He's got a place of pride in the cabinet leading a pack of blood thirsters (well not super prideful but better than being at the back of the pack!).  This is the first model in the army where I've added any bit of blood to the base.  I don't intend to add it to other models but once you scroll down you'll see why it was needed on this daemon!

Kingdom Death - Spidicules Leg Fix

It's a bit late since I think many people have already submitted complaints for the sprue mix up, but I wanted to share photos of fixing spidicules' legs yourself.

I had two copies of the rear right leg, so I trimmed the 'plug' very slightly and glued it into the rear left hole with plastic glue. With a small pea sized amount of greenstuff, I filled the remaining hole, and smoothed in slight crenelations with my knife to match the body.

Forgeworld Herald of Khorne WIP

No early progress shots since this guy was fairly simple.  The base coating was all done long long long ago so it's been touching up the reds and working on the metals.  Sadly I didn't take a scale shot but he's probably 20% larger than a GW plastic bloodthirster (though he's more hunched over so it's hard to see).  Upnext is the unlucky guardsman he's holding.

Kingdom Death - White Speaker Painted

Finished up the white speaker.  The first image is before I sealed it and added blood.  Since I bought this months ago, I didn't get the expansion content but apparently Kingdom Death is going to release a card upgrade pack for purchase. I'm optimistic this will be soon because the gear it comes with is pretty sweet (a cool dagger, namely) which allows you to essentially play a White Speaker (not lore wise, but you get to play a kickass a naked dagger lady) thus getting this model into the game.  I'm a sucker for game content :)

Kingdom Death - White Speaker WIP

When I picked up the 'Naked Promo' Set this model was on sale for $15 so I added it to the package on a whim.  It's very interesting... Basically all skin and some other finer details that are also very light.  So I went with a light brown basecoat.  I'm going to add red hair and blood effects to clash with the white.
