Terrorgheist Hell Drake - Counts-as WIP

I'm slowly working on my helldrake.  I droped it while priming so I had to do a bunch of repairs.  The left wing is very brittle since there is only the shoulder as a connection point.  You can also see on the right wing's hand, it's missing a toe.  That's in my lawn somewhere.  I air brushed the wings with a few shades of green and now I'm hand brushing the bone on.  It's taking forever!  I'm going to paint the dragon first and then do the statue quickly.  I think I'm going to go with a slate grey.  The chips and such evident on the model itself suggest it is stone and not metal.  The slate will also better match the basing scheme in the rest of the army.  I'd debated doing a marble look, but on such a large figure I don't think I could do it justice.

Emerald Fists Land Raider - Complete (with CHS sponsons).

I finished my first Emerald Fist Land Raider.  I like the chapterhouse sponsons now that they're on.  Initially I had to do some greenstuff and glue repair on some thinly cast bits which was a pain in the ass. I spoke to Nick with CHS and he said this was identified by a few customers and was remedied with a new mold; sort of unfortunate that it wasn't identified before shipping.  I wasn't asking for a replacement though so maybe CHS is good about that.  I'm not sure.  Anyway I just fixed it (hour or two of work and clean up) and moved on.  I really do like the look though.  I think I like the forgeworld ones better but the central part which holds the autocannons looks better in the CHS model and is easier to swap weapons out of.

Emerald Fists - Command Squad Idea - Forgeworld

I've wanted to build a command squad for my Emerald Fists since before they were even an idea.  I wanted a Crimson Fist command squad.  I have 2-3 of them built already but they were just standard marines with special shoulder pads and I could never really get on board to finishing them.
On the other hand I also keep seeing these awesome forgeworld sculpts for legion praetors and other HQ choices and while not wanting to paint more HQ models, I want these models.  By smashing these two ideas together, I've decided to grab these models and eventually make a command squad out of them.

Emerald Fists - Decimator done

I finished painting up my decimator.  I'm really narrowing down my backlog of unpainted miniatures.  Only like 15 left haha.  This model is really cool.  I like the odd joints in the legs especially.  I tried to pose him to look like he was lumbering forward, arms low in a brutish walk.  He's rather large too which is why I took a photo beside a terminator just to show how large this model is.  I haven't written a backstory for this at all so I have no more to really say, I'll just show some photos.

Emerald Fists Land Raider w/ CHS PIP 3

My land raider is coming along.  I took a picture and really thought this looked neat.  Here's a close up of the battle damge.  Since the tank is white I haven't bothered to under/overline the chips; I felt the contrast was high enough.  This is all sponged on to give the impression of flaked paint.  I didn't think ceremite would rust so there is none of that on here.  You can also see the in progress decal on the left where I sponged white overtop to make it appear worn.  It's pretty stark in this photo due to the lack of shading.

Emerald Fist - Land Raider w/ CHS PIP 2

I changed my mind about adding more green.  I was looking at it and I didn't shade the model as much as my other Fists (which disapointed me) but I didn't want to go back and fix it.  Part of this made the model look a bit plain.  I thought I'd solve this by adding a heavy support lambda to the top of the chassis like forgeworld did on their achilles.  This also follows the general scheme for my other vehicles where I added the tactical arrow to the rhinos.  A few more touches and then it's mudding.
