An'ggrath the Unbound WIP 4 - Tarnish and Wings

Working on the tarnish.  Less is more I guess, but still need enough to see it and dull the bronze.  I'm also working on the whips which need to be reheated and bent to fit better.  I sort of did that after half painting them and all the wash came off!  Oh well restart!

An'ggrath the Unbound WIP 3 - Details

More of the details done, I just need to get to work on the wings and tarnish the bronzes.  A very satisfying model thus far to paint.  I'm also thinking up what I'm going to do with the base because I don't like that he is declined so much and staring at his feet.

An'ggrath the Unbound WIP 2 - Bronze

With the red down, it's time to move on to the bronzes.  I've done a bit of the accents as well.  Bronze is tin bitz, two golds, mithril silver then a wash of gryphonne followed by mithril.  Oxide I'll do at the end.

An'ggrath the Unbound WIP 1 - Basecoat

He was sad that he wasn't painted!  Months and months of sitting in a cabinet has come to an end.  Working on the reds here I'm going to leave the wings until last.

Kingdom Death - Before the Wall - Painted

My new favourite Kingdom Death Survivor.  This is Before the Wall, when Aya hasn't been beaten to a near pulp (as seen in the Beyond the Wall mini; which I don't have).  I tried best I could to mirror the concept art and ended up repainting the armour twice since the first try was a bone white which didn't look metallic enough.  I also toned down the orange I'd originally put in her hair so it wasn't quite as highlighted.  Our game last Friday I tried to make her armour set but when I went to read the bonuses noticed your settlement can't be Barbaric - so that was a waste.  Oops!  Next time I'll know better.

An'ggrath Comes

Look who's hiding in the shadows... Is he lurking to pounce or just embarrassed that he's not painted?  We'll see!

Kingdom Death - Gorm Armour Painted

In contrast to the pinup from last post who just has a sword, I wanted these two to have shields since I'm guessing (not played yet) that this armour will be better for tanking.  Continued the black leather gimp suit approach too.

Kingdom Death - Gorm Armour Gimp Suits WIP

Next up are a male and female gorm armour suit with shields, an axe and a big sword.  Couple quick shades of black and a wash to get the leather out of the way to start.

Kingdom Death - Gorm Armour Pinup Painted

Now that Gorm's been painted I had to do the pinup lady that came with the kit.  In hindsight maybe I should have painted the gorm black since I wanted the armour to be a dark gimp suit leather like the art; maybe someday I'll fix it but for now this chick is ready to slay.  I'm really happy with how the face turned out.  Next I'll put together a few more gorm suits using more typical load outs.

Kingdom Death - Screaming Antelope basing upgrade

I made some acanthus plants for 3d terrain for this encounter and decided the Screaming Antelope needed a base upgrade to match.  I bought this sheet of plants (12" x 12") for a couple dollars and used about 2% of them ahaha.  A hot glue gun and 10 minutes and it's done.  I think it looks way better than it used to!
