Khorne Blood Crushers - WIP

I painted up some bloodcrushers but still need riders. I'm going to do those later!  These are such aggressive looking dudes.

Dog Ate My Model - Repaired Nurgle Blight Drone

Back in February 2013 I posted this  where my dog utterly destroyed a blight drone I was working on.  I was understandably upset!  All of those painting hours gone!  Anyway it took well over 2 years for me to go back and try to fix this thing, but luckily it was nurgle.  There was nothing major enough that some extra rust and blood and puss couldn't fix.  I did lose some cables but that seems minor now.

[Fluff] The Siege of Bruj Chapter 5

Based on an adaptation of the Badab War Campaign, the result of 5 games of Warhammer 40k are being used to write a recount of 'The Siege of Bruj', a compendium for the background of the traitorous elements of the Emerald Fists; my homebrew chapter.  The results are being formatted with photographs of my models and the battles.  Enjoy.

[Fluff] Mark IIA Hover Rhino and conversion

So originally I mage the mark IA (fluff below) but then when I made my recon marines I decided they needed a transport akin to the land speeder storm.  What better to transport my Mark IV scouts in power armour than an armoured hover transport (land speeder storm counts as).  Since I already had one, this was perfect.  Though it needed some weapon upgrades.  I hope the fluff makes it somewhat plausible (I only really need to convince myself haha) and makes an interesting model.  After a bit of cutting I have this.  Any thoughts?

Fortress of Redemption WIP and Marble Painting

Pre wash/detail
I picked one of these up a long while ago and it sat primed for a long time.  I was inspired to try painting a large marble statue on each facing and started on it.  I'm done half of it, and it's really annoying so I'm sure it will be a while before I revisit this.  Also since I can't fit it in a display cabinet and I haven't played a game in forever, It will probably continue unfinished for the foreseeable future, until I have a place to put it.  Such a huge model though.  I air brushed dhenab stone, wych flesh and elven flesh in strips across the statue.  After this was dry, I used hormagaunt purple to paint cracks and lines in random wiggly lines, and watered down to give the effect it was at various depths in the rock.  I tried to keep a predominant direction to the grain.  After this was done, I watered down some gryphonne sepia and washed the whole piece.  As this was drying, I flipped the model upside down, then right side up every minute or so to move the pools around.  This cause some random drying effects.  Once this was near dry, I used a slightly wet dry brush to scrub off the dried wash rings in certain areas so that again, it didn't just look like dried paint rings, but subtle colours in the rock.  I've seen way better marble effect on other people's models but for a model this large that isn't all flat surfaces I don't think I could even hope to emulate those techniques.  From 24 inches away, I'm content though.

Star Wars Armada - Tie Fighters Painted

My starter set came in for this awesome game and I felt the tie fighters needed to be painted.  Coming from a Warhammer hobby, painting these was exceptionally fast!  They're about the size of a fingernail (if not smaller) so a black base coat, followed by some lines and a wash is really all they need.  It's important though not to go too dark (did that on my test ship) since from a distance it's really hard to see detail if the grey doesn't pop.  Pew Pew Pew!

[Emerald Fists] Space Marine Basilisk - Painted

My Space Marine Basilisk is all painted up.  You can see prepaint photos here.  It was based on a basilisk with some cutting and plasticard.  I think it fits in nicely!  The barrel goes up but it doesn't really like to stay there and falls with a stiff breeze.  That's the only bummer.  I built this a long while ago, before Forge World made their version (which is really nice) but I do like the enclosed hull.  Photos and angles:
