[Dreadtober] Contemptor Dreadnought - Complete

Finished paint job on my 2nd Emerald Fists Contemptor Dreadnought.  The first one is here. The shoulders come from puppetswar (I got them years ago).  I like this guy more than my other 'basic' contemptor since he has more regal bits and seems more deserving of gold trim haha.  I think eventually I want a 3rd one (probably with the forge world Imperial Fists model) holding a shield.  I've got something in the back of my mind for that.  #Dreadtober,

  1. Looking great! With the cream and green, plus the weathering, it looks an awful lot like a Death Guard model. Not that it's a bad thing, because it looks fantastic either way.

    1. Good eye! The original inspiration for the Emerald Fists was the Death Guard, though I went with a more vibrant green and less sickly in the end. This actually evolved over the chapter, with early models having an even darker green.

      Thanks man!

  3. There is something truly impressive about that model. I think it the dual cannon configuration that hammers it home. Awesome work!

    1. Contemptors are very nice - I find it hard to justify painting the normal Mk IV+ ones now since they're just not as imposing and I can't figure out how they'd walk!

I love the rounded shoulders too. The bits themselves don't work well as close combat weapon mounts (weak elbows) but for cannons they're pretty slick.

If you have more time than sense I have 400 or so posts for you to go back through too ;)

    2. I haven't got alot of sense mate lol .... I spend hundreds and more on hobby kit and miniatures, From time to time i ask myself what I'm doing then just ignore the voices and buy more ;)

I'll have a good look around but love your stuff so far.
