Thanks man! I can't remember where, years ago, I read something on base colours (maybe from the warp blog?). Basically contrast is good if done without being gaudy (pure skull white would not have worked). I did have to change the rims on the bases to this colour (graveyard earth) from my usual dark brown though since the dark brown looked too different. I was a little sad about that since now nothing blends the bases with my nurgle stuff.
Very cool - really dig how that turned out! The base really sets off nice against the black and red of the model.
