Emerald Fist Chaos Terminators (Nurgle) Done!

I finished up my nurgle terminators and finished basing them!  Now I can move along to my next project.  I'm also obviously looking into some land raider transports for all of my Emerald Fists.  My end goal is that everyone has a transport in the army.  Even the jump pack marines will air craft to jump from.  People need goals right?!

To paint these, I used the same method for the rest of the army, basecoat dhenab stone (Rakarth flesh now) followed by a zenital of wych flesh.  Overtop of this it is washed HEAVILY with devlan mud and then drybrush with wych flesh followed by skull white.  The armor is sponged for damage and washed in places for running pools of oil/grease.  The rusty spots use GW texture paint followed by brown and orange highlights.
I've decided to do all of my future power weapons for this army with lightning effect and this squad had ample bits to practice on.  The blues were painted on in lightning patterns in successive lighter colours then washed with blue followed by skull white lines at the junction points.

I didn't want this guy's face to stand out a lot and wanted him to be faded and old looking.  His skin is melding with his armour so I felt this was suitable.  I can't stop seeing vader's bare head in this model.

I had a lot of these blade things from an earlier project when I was thinking of doing 1000 sons.  I salvaged this one and thought it gave a distinct look to the model.  Three of these terminators (the ones with CSM legs) have been extended 2 mm in the feet and at the waste giving them almost 1/4" more height than standard terminators.  Paired with these scenic bases they dwarf my plague marines which is sweet.

A parting shot of one more guy with his lighting effect at the fore.

  1. My personal favorite is the guy with his head fusing with his armor. Exemplary model and a nice paint job to compliment. These guys look great!

    1. Yeah I can't get over how much 'easier' it is to paint a good sculpt.

    1. Thanks, they're one of my favourite squads in the army and I find myself pushing at least 3 into lists just so I can see them :) Soon they'll have a decimator to back them up.
