Dystopian Wars - Kingdom of Britannia Starter

If you haven't tried this game (Dystopian Wars) I strongly recommend it.  I've played about 8 games so far and they've all been different.  I bought the bundle offered by the maker SpartanGames which includes 4 naval fleets for ~$200 and a rule book.  I've since sold some of the fleets to friends to play with so all in all $50 is a great starting point to play. . .
The game takes longer than the average 40k game but there are quite a lot more decisions involved.   There's definately a higher learning curve than 40k but it's nice to try something new (my 2nd miniature game ever if you don't count MageKnight) and painting something at a different scale is also great (they're 1:1200 I think).
Anyway here are the capital ships and small frigates for the Kingdom of Britannia that I've painted up (the contents of the starter box minus the aircraft).
I've ordered more of the newly released items and have painted a few (to post later).  I also borrowed some IG decals to number my ships.  Still having some issues with decals but I think that sheen only comes off at certain angles.  They'll be matt varnished eventually which should hide that.

  2. Great job on the KOB starter fleet. You're well ahead of me, I've hardly started my fleet.

    1. Give it a go! Honestly if you find an evening you should be able to make significant progress. They're such small models they paint fast. Don't be discouraged!

  3. Thanks. I'm committed to a squadron per week, and will have enough for small games soon. But I've seen other people doing great batch work ... perhaps I'll rethink my plans.

    1. Yeah I do all of my painting in batch jobs. Especially with Dystopian where everything is so small. Just seems a waste of time to paint 3 ships only unless you're doing different schemes and such. Especially now too I like everything in a batch so cleaning and setting up the airbrush isn't as big of a deal and I waste less paint.

  4. Love the tiny decals. Please tell me what IG decals are and where I can get them.

    1. Oh I always assume every wargammer is familiar with Warhammer 40k. Those are Imperial Guard decals/transfers. You can usually ebay them for a dollar. It's the all white sheet (here's a sample: http://bitzkrieg.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Decal_Cadian.jpg)
