I wanted to make some salt and pepper shakers and decided to go with a chess theme. These are large (~12") with the pepper queen and the salty king. I don't think they're so overwhelming that the chess theme won't fit the kitchen. Only chess nerds would probably even notice.
I also made a crochet set for a gift using some acrylic burl. This is supposed to use those fancy carbide blades to cut (said the instructions) but I don't have one, so I just sharpened my blades constantly out of fear of chipping it. Worked ok other than the elevated heart rate.
and lastly, a simple shoe horn with some reclaimed wood I had. Not sure what it is. Exceptionally hard.
