I finished the two characters my wife and I are using in our campaign as well as four fire tokens. I think you only need 2 but it seemed easier to paint them at the same time. I also added a bit of grass for the goat (otherwise why is he just standing in the mud?!). For the bases I went with a brown since the terrain in the game varies quite a bit from beach to desert to forest and snow (at least that's what we've seen) and this seems to be the least visually obtrusive/out of place in each setting. Alternatively a shale probably would have worked too. I'm not sure if a player can die and be replaced without starting the game over, but I'm going to paint up a few more next. It was interesting painting models so tiny.
