As I went through my stuff I found the parts for this guy last week and found the urge to finish him. I'd picked up these parts a couple years ago and haven't played 40k since so he sat in pieces. I had posted the shield back then but the dreadnought wasn't even started. I built the dreadnought with a shield and hammer because I thought it was the most 'fisty' thing I could do.
I tried to cut the plastic for the shield to mimic other space marine items (tanks/storm shields) etc. I was a bit worried it was too plain but I think less is more here.
Here's the best side profile of the hammer which is made of a light bulb, a lascannon, and a 3rd party dreadnought weapon arm (the main cylinder of the hammer).
